Sales Project Manager

Nothum Food Processing Systems is a family-owned, oriented, and operated local business. The Sales Project Manager's primary responsibilities are to provide excellent customer service to customers during all aspects of an equipment purchase from concept, demos, purchase, and a
successful installation. The Sales Project Manager will also serve as a liaison between sales and other departments within Nothum including engineering, manufacturing, and service.

Primary Responsibilities

Customer Support:

  • Support customers in new product development, test runs, line optimization, yield improvements, or other production needs. Sell production services/support to customers as a one-time visit or recurring package of visits. Also, provide courtesy visits to enhance overall customer experience
  • Provide drawings, plant layouts, and schematics for new purchases
  • Provide utility and installation details to customer
  • Be the primary point of contact for Sales Account Managers for technical or production details on all Nothum products

Project Management:

  • The Sales Project Manager will serve as a technical resource for new and existing customers for their Nothum Equipment
  • Verify proposals are appropriate for customer needs and product mix
  • Coordinate and participate in pre-installation meetings at the customer site to ensure all details of installation are managed including any required communication with other vendors or installation teams
  • The Sales Project Manager will coordinate and participate in Nothum equipment release meetings, and provide all signed approval drawings and project details
  • Work with Account Manager, manufacturing, shipping, and service to coordinate delivery of equipment
  • Attend a Pre-Install meeting at the customer site to ensure the full plan for successful installation
  • Approval of all equipment prior to shipment verifying it will exceed our customer's expectations
  • Attend installation and start-up of equipment with Account Manager
  • Provide Customer with Operational Manuals and Preventive Maintenance schedules for all equipment purchased
  • Work with Engineering and Manufacturing on all change requests, special order items, manufacturing differences, and all customer-specific details

Customer Demos

  • The Sales Project Manager will work with Account Managers after an opportunity to demo equipment is presented
  • Gather testing criteria via customer conversations and on-site observations and then make a data collection sheet for the demo
  • Conduct a Pre-Demo meeting internally at Nothum to discuss all equipment being tested, customer expectations, production details, and any potential obstacles
  • Coordinate delivery of equipment with Account Manager, Customer, Shipping Department, and Service Department as well as approval of equipment prior to shipment
  • Be on-site for the entire customer demo and gather data from testing
  • Participate in exit meeting upon completion of demo and create an ROI based on testing results
  • Coordinate all efforts for PTC testing as well following the same procedure as on-site demos as described above

Other Responsibilities

  • The Sales Project Manager will work with Account Managers in identifying potential customer needs for equipment
  • Offer support and assistance to other departments with Nothum as needed to ensure a high level of customer service is always being delivered
  • Develop and implement tools for increased tracking and accountability in all sales projects
  • Other tasks as deemed necessary by management or ownership personnel at Nothum

Job Requirements

  • 5-10 years of applicable experience in project management or food manufacturing equipment
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work within CAD programs (creating layouts with existing blocks)
  • Travel as needed with Account Managers, Director of Sales, or individually as projects dictate. Approximate travel estimation is 40-50%
  • Possess excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team atmosphere (both as leader and participant)
  • Highly organized
