Robotics Application Engineer

Job Description:

Nothum Food Processing Systems (Springfield, MO), a growing food processing equipment manufacturer seeks qualified individuals for a Robotics Applications Engineer for a full-time position.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Work directly with management, sales, research and development, production, and end-users to develop, grow, and maintain the Robotics Division. This is a new division within Nothum's portfolio of products and will require the ability to build the department from the ground up.
• Propose concepts and build solutions that are adapted to our range of products but add the benefits of robotics.
• Provide training to our customers and team members.
• Report project progress and status to upper management.

Requirements and Skills:

Education:

• BS degree in Mechatronics, Computer Science, Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering
• Associate degree with automation work experience

Experience:

• Three years of automation and/or robotics experience preferred.
• Education in multiple fields pertaining to automation.

Travel:

• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Valid passport or capability to get a passport.
• Willing and able to undertake travel up to 25% of the time.

Competencies:

• Electrical knowledge and skills:

• • • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and advise the customer on best practices.
    • On occasion design and implement electrical systems for testing or demonstration.

• Mechanical Knowledge and Skills:

• • Ability to design, within a 3D environment, basic tools and fixtures needed for testing and demonstration.
  • Fabrication utilizing basic hand tools along with machine shop tools.
  • Understanding of best practices when designing and implementing EOAT.
  • Additive manufacturing expertise.
• Programming and Controls Knowledge and Skills:
  • Proficient in structure text programming.
  • Understanding and knowledge of best practices for controls architecture of an automation cell.
  • Fieldbus knowledge and implementation.
• Quality and customer service driven to consistently satisfy company and customer needs
• Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
