Manufacturing/Design Engineer

What are we looking for?

• Experienced Manufacturing Engineer with a background in Solidworks and AutoCAD (primary responsibilities being in Solidworks). 
• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology
• Four years of Manufacturing Engineering experience with industrial products or machines preferred. 
• Welding methods, fixture design and metal forming experience preferred.
• Experience with stainless steel and/or food processing equipment a plus.
• Strong English written and oral communication abilities are a must. 
• Ability to work on multiple tasks with little supervision in a fast paced environment.
• Initiative to perform duties beyond assignment specific responsibilities. 

What will you be doing here? 

• Be actively involved in the design of cutting edge, state of the art food processing equipment for an industry leading company.
• Work with other team members in engineering to convey design for manufacturability knowledge.
• Partner with fellow Engineers and Production team(s) to evaluate cost efficiency, safety & manufacturability of products, providing technical support to production as needed, to ensure design changes are implemented as necessary.
• Work to improve our manufacturing methods and improve our machines designs to reduce costs and improve quality.
• Propose new production methods or advise on improvements to current methods.
• Evaluate capability of current production equipment and recommend tooling or equipment upgrades.
• Lead development, documentation and training on manufacturing and design for manufacturing best practices.
• Develop jigs and fixtures to improve throughput and quality.
• Responsible to meet design & engineering schedule milestones to support customer expectations
